Hello, welcome to iTravelness. My name is Mallami Adekunle and if you're reading this then I finally went ahead and did it. Naturally, I know you're probably wondering what I'm talking about, well let me explain.
I
have always had this dream; to become a writer. I love writing, I've
always done it but strangely I always thought my prolificness with words
would make me a rapper so I dabbled into rapping for a while. I was
good at it but the zeal to want to conquer the world with it wasn't
there.
But
still I never stopped writing. I'd write songs on top of songs on top
of songs but as I said, the zeal wasn't there so it meant that I wrote a
lot but I never made it to the studio to record most of them and even
when I did, I never promoted them.
Then
something interesting happened last year, my best friend Emmanuella has
always been a writer but I never gave her writing much attention. One
boring day, she uploaded a poem on her Instagram page, I read it and it
changed my life forever.
I
was so intrigued by the word construction and metaphors on display that
I had to screenshot it and started studying other poetry materials.
I
finally wrote one of mine and I was mind blown by the feedbacks I
received. I have honestly never looked back since then, I write poems
everyday and post them on my Instagram page @fiezie92 and I currently
have a chapbook on the way.
But that isn't why we're here, is it? We're here because of iTravelness; my dream website.
In
reality when I finally decided to start a blog, I was confused between
starting a poetry blog or a travel blog but I settled on poetry blog;
LamLaminkings because I felt I was already more experienced in that
area.
Still
I never gave up on the travel blog, I was always constantly researching
about how to create one and optimize it and I finally did it!
This maybe isn't an ideal first post but I just had to let you know about the journey.
I
love the feel of traveling to a good travel destination and I love the
euphoria of telling people about it. I love it when I tell people about a
place and they are itching to want to go themselves, that is why our
slogan is "Seeing the world through our eyes, we explore you travel".
I
would be exploring a chronological order kinda way with my posts, what I
mean is, when I post about New York this week, I won't be posting about
Atlanta in the next post. I would update as much as possible about New
York then move to another.
I hope this experiment is a success.
